A high-level conference titled “Dialogue of the Turkic World: A Common Future, a Common Vision” was held at UWED

On September 29 of this year, a high-level conference titled “Dialogue of the Turkic World: A Common Future, a Common Vision” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED). The event, organized as part of the preparations for the 13th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Ankara, was attended by representatives from the diplomatic and academic spheres, as well as the media.

The conference, organized by the Directorate of Communications of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Turkey in cooperation with UWED, discussed the preservation of the common historical and cultural heritage, which serves as a crucial foundation for cooperation within the Turkic world, as well as contemporary global and regional processes.

During the dialogue, special attention was paid to the regional and global situation, economic and political connectivity, digital transformation, and the effective use of artificial intelligence capabilities. An exchange of views also took place on ensuring security in the information space, combating disinformation and digital manipulation, and elevating information exchange between the Turkic states to a new level.

In their speeches, Sodyq Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and Rector of UWED, and Ufuk Ulutaş, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Uzbekistan, emphasized the importance of further developing the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey, as well as cooperation among the Turkic states.

Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Directorate of Communications of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Turkey, sent a video message to the conference participants.

The main session, moderated by Yusuf Özhan, Deputy Director General and Editor-in-Chief of the Anadolu Agency, was attended by Rector of Cappadocia University Hasan Ali Karasar, Deputy Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan and Director of the International Institute for Central Asia Javlon Vakhabov, and Dean at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Fırat Purtaş, who shared their analytical views on the prospects for cooperation within the Turkic world.

Following the discussions, a number of proposals and initiatives aimed at developing cooperation in the fields of information, education, and digital technologies were put forward. It is expected that the opinions and recommendations expressed at the conference will serve to meaningfully enrich the agenda of the upcoming 13th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara.
