UWED Rector Meets with the Ambassadors of Sweden and Finland

First Deputy Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Sodyq Safoev, met with the Ambassador of Sweden to Uzbekistan, Martin Rosen, and the Ambassador of Finland to Uzbekistan, Johanna Maria Sjögren.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further strengthening the friendly relations between Uzbekistan, Finland, and Sweden, enriching interparliamentary cooperation with new substance, and expanding trade and economic ties.

Particular attention was paid to advancing cooperation in education and human capital development, digital technologies, ecology and water resource management, strengthening collaboration between analytical and research centers, as well as continuing dialogue within the “Central Asia – Northern Europe” format.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants agreed to enhance regular dialogue between interparliamentary friendship groups and parliamentary committees, exchange experience in the field of parliamentary oversight, and continue consistent cooperation within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA).
