On 27 June 2024, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted Mr. Wade Kusack, Director of the US-based non-profit organisation Love Your Neighbor Community (LYNC) and a board member of non-government organization – the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE).

     The official meeting was attended by First Vice-Rector Mr.O.Yusupjanov, Dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Management Mr.M.Khamdamov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Law Mr. F.Tashev, and Editor-in-Chief of the UWED journal “International Relations: Politics, Economics, Law” Mr.U. Khasanov.

     During the discussions, the parties explored the development of a long-term partnership between UWED and LYNC, aimed at contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through joint research programmes and the development of educational resources. The meeting highlighted successful examples of collaboration, including training sessions on religion, the rule of law, and interfaith literacy, conducted in partnership with UWED and the International Center for Law and Religion Studies (ICLRS).

   Particular attention was paid to the prospects of launching further joint research projects and producing academic materials focused on “Intercultural Dialogue in Negotiation Technologies” in collaboration with Pepperdine University (Washington and Geneva campuses). These initiatives aim to promote mutual understanding between institutions and stakeholders, and to support the constructive advancement of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.

    At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued academic and scientific cooperation, including the joint development of educational programmes and research on pressing issues related to sustainable development.
