UWED Students Visit the Center of Islamic Civilization

On October 24, 2026, first-year students of the Faculty of International Relations at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) visited the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent as part of their Religious Studies course. The educational visit was organized under the guidance of Kamola Qayumova, a lecturer in the course.

The main objective of the visit was to develop students’ comprehensive understanding of the historical development of Islamic civilization, its contributions to the advancement of science and culture, and the rich scholarly and spiritual heritage of Eastern thinkers.

During the visit, students explored the Center’s exhibitions and learned about historical periods marked by the flourishing of scientific thought and scholarship in the Muslim East, the research of eminent scholars, and their influence on the development of world civilization. The historical and cultural heritage on display enabled students to understand Islamic civilization not only as a religious phenomenon but also as a scientific, philosophical, and cultural one.

The visit played an important role in enriching students’ theoretical knowledge of Religious Studies with practical learning experiences and broadening their historical awareness and intellectual outlook. It also helped foster respect among young people for historical heritage, deepen their understanding of the complementarity of religious and secular knowledge, and enhance their appreciation of the role of different civilizations in the development of humanity.
