UWED and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Discuss Prospects for Strategic Cooperation

On 7 July 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted a meeting with a delegation led by Dr. Mark Speich, Secretary General of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Germany).
During the meeting, the participants highlighted the significant progress of the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, emphasizing the growing role of Parliament and local self-government bodies. In this context, both sides expressed mutual interest in expanding cooperation aimed at studying Germany’s experience in building a socially oriented market economy, as well as developing modern competencies among civil servants, members of Parliament, and senior officials in the areas of public administration, the budget process, public policy, and strategic planning.
As an initial practical step, the parties agreed to organize an academic seminar at UWED dedicated to the legacy of Ludwig Erhard and the contemporary development of the concept of the social market economy.
The sides also discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation with the European Parliament, the European Commission, and leading European universities. In addition, they agreed to collaborate systematically in organizing international conferences on current global and regional issues and to prepare joint analytical publications.
At the conclusion of the meeting, UWED and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation agreed to develop a “Joint Roadmap” for Strategic Partnership aimed at ensuring the long-term and systematic development of bilateral cooperation. The roadmap will prioritize executive education, the training of young leaders and civil servants, joint research on regional integration, sustainable development, and public administration, the organization of international conferences, roundtables, and expert forums, as well as the expansion of academic exchanges between Uzbekistan, Germany, and the European Union.
The meeting marked an important step toward elevating cooperation between UWED and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation to a new level and further strengthening international partnership in the fields of education, research, and public administration.
