SDG MUN: A platform for global dialogue and sustainable solutions

On May 6 of this year, the SDG MUN — a Model United Nations conference dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — was held.
The event brought together not only students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, but also representatives of other higher educational institutions, creating a broad and interactive platform for dialogue. The event was organized with the support of Kushbakova S.X., a teacher at the Department of International Economic Relations, and Abduraxmanova M.A., a teacher at the Department of Political Science.
Within the framework of the simulation, participants acted as delegates of various countries, representing and defending their states’ interests and positions. The main objective was to discuss global challenges and develop effective solutions for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the sessions, delegates conducted negotiations, drafted resolutions, and worked toward reaching consensus on important issues such as climate change, poverty reduction, quality education, and sustainable economic growth. SDG MUN became an important platform for developing diplomacy, critical thinking, and international cooperation skills. Participants gained valuable experience in collaborating on global initiatives and conducting negotiations.
Holding such events contributes to shaping a new generation of leaders capable of addressing modern challenges and contributing to sustainable development.
