Third-year students of the “International Relations” faculty at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) actively participated in the “European Union Festival 2026,” held on 2 May 2026 to mark Europe Day at the Yoshlar ijod saroyi in Tashkent. The event was organized under the supervision of Associate Professor A.M. Radjabova of the Department of International Relations within the framework of the course “The European Union in Contemporary International Relations”.

The festival served as a prominent international platform, bringing together around 50 representatives of international organizations, ambassadors of the member states of the European Union, foreign experts, and media representatives. Throughout the event, students visited thematic pavilions, where they explored the educational opportunities offered by European countries, as well as projects being implemented in Central Asia, particularly in Uzbekistan.

Particular emphasis was placed on the alignment of the presented initiatives and programs with the Sustainable Development Goals advanced by the United Nations. In this context, the event exemplified progress toward Goal 16 — Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions — and Goal 17 — Partnerships for the Goals.

Students demonstrated strong interest in the ongoing initiatives of leading international organizations, including UNDP, UNESCO, UNFPA, GIZ, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and Goethe-Institute, currently implemented in Uzbekistan.

Participation in the festival significantly contributed to enriching students’ theoretical knowledge through practical exposure, deepening their understanding of international cooperation mechanisms, and strengthening their capacity for active engagement in contemporary global development processes.
