On April 24, 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a roundtable on “China's Experience in Eradicating Poverty Under Xi Jinping's Leadership,” attended by third-year students from the Faculty of International Relations. The event was dedicated to one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals—the eradication of poverty in all its forms. Participants analyzed the PRC's contribution to global achievements related to SDG 1.

The event was organized by J. Vakhobov and M. Umarkhodjaeva, Chinese language instructors from the Department of Oriental Languages.

During the roundtable, the comprehensive socio-economic and political reforms implemented by the People's Republic of China in recent years to combat poverty were thoroughly examined.

The event was held in an interactive format with the active participation of students. An open discussion and a question-and-answer session helped develop skills in critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and drawing independent conclusions.

A key feature of the roundtable was the integration of modern educational technologies: the study of China's socio-economic reforms was combined with the acquisition of specialized vocabulary in Chinese. The use of interactive formats allowed participants to master the new terminology necessary for working with original Chinese sources.

The event featured an interactive format where the educational process was inextricably linked with language immersion.
