Debate on “Political Regimes” Held at UWED

On April 30 of the current year, a debate on the topic “Political Regimes” was held among students of the Faculty of International Relations at University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The event was organized to develop students’ political thinking, strengthen their skills in analyzing contemporary international political processes, and promote a culture of free expression.
During the debate, participants shared their views on various political regimes existing in the world - democratic, authoritarian, and totalitarian - discussing their characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages. Lively discussions were also held on the impact of political regimes on state development, the formation of civil society, and a country’s position in the international arena.
In their speeches, students presented well-grounded arguments based on the experience of different countries, historical examples, and current geopolitical events. Each team demonstrated high engagement in defending its position, analyzing opponents’ arguments, and drawing logical conclusions.
At the end of the event, the most active students and teams were specially recognized. The debate contributed to the development of public speaking culture, critical and analytical thinking, teamwork skills, and the expansion of students’ political knowledge.
Such intellectual events play an important role in strengthening the academic and practical environment among students of University of World Economy and Diplomacy and in enhancing the professional potential of future diplomats and specialists.
