April 7, 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a spiritual and educational event, "The Renaissance of the Timurid Era," dedicated to the 690th anniversary of the birth of the great commander and statesman, Amir Temur.
The event was attended by the university administration, faculty, researchers, and students. Its primary goal was to deepen the study of the rich historical heritage of Amir Temur and the Timurid era, to widely popularize their contributions to world civilization, and to strengthen among young people a sense of national identity, patriotism, and respect for historical memory.
The First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Work, O. Yusupjanov, delivered a welcome speech. He particularly noted that the figure of Amir Temur occupies an exceptional place not only in the history of Central Asia but also in world history. He emphasized that Temur's principles of governance, based on justice and strict discipline, remain relevant today. The Vice-Rector also called on young people to study historical heritage deeply and draw important lessons from it.
During the event, research and practical reports were presented. Professor S. Gulomov of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan delivered a report on "The Role of Amir Temur in World Civilization," in which he provided an analytical assessment of the significance of a centralized state, developed trade routes, and the patronage of science and culture during the Timurid period. Professor K. Dzhuraev of the Department of Political Science presented a report on "The Principles of Justice in the Views and Activities of Amir Temur," detailing the importance of the rule of law, social justice, and accountability in the system of public administration.
Achievements of talented students were recognized during the event: winners of various competitions and projects were awarded, which served as additional encouragement for their further academic and creative endeavors.
The artistic part of the event included the poetry composition "Sohibkironim" and a theatrical performance dedicated to historical events involving Amir Temur and Tokhtamysh Khan. This performance vividly and clearly depicted historical events and left a strong impression on the audience.
Holding this event is of great importance for strengthening respect for national history and rich cultural heritage, popularizing the legacy of Amir Temur, and improving the effectiveness of spiritual and educational work in the country.
