The Geopolitical Role of Central Asian States in the Modern International System Discussed

At the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, a debate on the topic “The Geopolitical Role of Central Asian States in the Modern International System” was organized at the Faculty of International Relations with the participation of first-year students.
As an integral part of the educational process, the event aimed to strengthen students’ theoretical knowledge, enhance their understanding of global political processes, and develop their skills in independent and critical thinking, logical analysis, and drawing well-founded conclusions.
During the debate, participants presented their views on the geopolitical significance of Central Asia in the modern international system, its specific features as a region where the interests of major powers intersect, issues of regional security and stability, prospects for economic cooperation, as well as factors shaping regional identity.
The approaches proposed by the students were substantiated with various theoretical concepts and practical examples. Throughout the discussions, participants demonstrated a high level of preparedness, a critical approach to contemporary issues, and the ability to defend their positions with well-grounded arguments.
Within the framework of the debate, particular attention was paid to integration processes in the region, the current state and prospects of multilateral cooperation among states, as well as the importance of interaction with international organizations.
The event contributed to the practical consolidation of students’ theoretical knowledge, the development of public speaking culture and teamwork skills, and their formation as competent specialists for the future. At the conclusion of the event, active participants were awarded certificates.
