UWED Hosts Turkish Language Day Celebration

On April 20 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy organized an event dedicated to “Turkish Language Day”.
The event was attended by the university leadership; Ebubekir Aydın, Education Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Uzbekistan; Esin Acar Ergin, a representative of the TİKA organization; Erdoğan Topçu, a representative of the TRT broadcasting company in Tashkent; Firat Dursun, Head of the Turkish Lyceum in Tashkent, along with the lyceum's teachers; Naima Jabbarova, Chairperson of the “Katta Kora Suv” mahalla of Tashkent's Mirzo-Ulugbek district; as well as the university's faculty, students, and their parents.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by Akram Azamatovich Umarov, the First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at UWED. In his remarks, he noted that interest in studying the Turkish language is steadily growing among the youth of Uzbekistan, as well as at our university. He also emphasized that the leadership of Uzbekistan is paying special attention to the further expansion of comprehensive ties with Turkey, including cooperation in education and the development of partnerships with leading Turkish universities.
In his speech, Ebubekir Aydın, Education Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Uzbekistan, spoke about the prospects for fruitful cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey and the important aspects of this relationship. During the celebration, seeing the active participation of UWED students in "Turkish Language Day," he once again highlighted the growing interest in the Turkish language.
The event program was filled with vibrant and memorable performances, including recitations of poems by famous Turkish poets, traditional and modern dances, classical and lively contemporary songs, as well as engaging theatrical skits.
The event was held to a high standard and in a festive atmosphere; such occasions inspire students of the Turkish language and serve to improve interstate relations.
