On April 16 of the current year, a videoconference was held between representatives of the Faculty of International Economics and Management of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), as well as the Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS), and the Institute of Economics under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The event brought together heads and faculty members of the departments of “International Economics,” “Systems Analysis and Mathematical Modeling,” and “International Finance and Investments,” along with staff of the Center for Economic Diplomacy from UWED and IAIS. During the videoconference, the parties discussed promising areas of bilateral academic and scientific cooperation. In particular, they considered the implementation of joint research projects, preparation of co-authored publications in international academic journals, and opportunities for conducting comparative and interregional studies. Special attention was given to the expansion of academic mobility, including short-term research visits, guest lectures, and joint scientific seminars.

In addition, the participants expressed their interest in jointly organizing conferences, roundtables, and expert discussions on pressing regional and global development issues. Participation in international grant programs, strengthening expert dialogue, and preparing joint analytical materials were identified as key areas of cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to gradually implement the identified areas of cooperation and to develop practical mechanisms for their realization. This agreement lays a solid foundation for strengthening institutional and academic collaboration between UWED, IAIS, and the Institute of Economics of Azerbaijan.
