On April 14, 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic “Harmonious combination of environmental and economic issues in achieving sustainable development goals in Uzbekistan”.

This prestigious forum was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent, New Uzbekistan University and the University of Central Asia.

At the conference, Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Odiljon Toirovich Mamadaliev, Rector of the Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent Ilkhom Abdurashidovich Mamatkulov and representative of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change Bakhrom Botir ugli Kholkhodjaev emphasized the relevance of the sustainable development agenda.

At the plenary session, local and foreign experts discussed modern mechanisms for ensuring a balance between environmental sustainability and economic growth.

As a result of the conference, practical proposals and recommendations were developed to expand investment mechanisms to ensure environmental sustainability, introduce ESG standards, support renewable energy projects, as well as strengthen cooperation between the state, business and the academic community.

 This international conference served as an important platform for scientific and practical dialogue on the way to achieving sustainable development goals in Uzbekistan.
