On April 15 this year, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodyq Safoev held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Uzbekistan Ms. Helen Sand Andresen.

 At the meeting, the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Norway were discussed.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on bringing inter-parliamentary relations to a qualitatively new level, exchanging experience in the field of lawmaking and establishing a dialogue between relevant committees.

Attention was also focused on issues of intensifying political dialogue, expanding cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres, as well as in the field of green economy, digital technologies, education and innovation. In this context, S. Safoev separately dwelled on the development of bilateral relations with Norwegian universities, stressing the importance of academic exchange and joint research projects.

 At the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to consistently continue mutually beneficial cooperation.
