On April 6, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held a seminar-training session for first-year students of the Faculty of International Relations on the topic: “Priority Policy Directions of New Uzbekistan in Preventing Early Marriages Among Youth”.

The main purpose of the event was to provide students with detailed information about the psychological, legal, and social consequences of early marriages, as well as to familiarize them with the key state policy priorities of New Uzbekistan in this area. During the seminar, the negative effects of early marriage on education, personal development, and long-term life plans were thoroughly discussed.

The keynote speaker, leading psychologist Barno Karimova, delivered an insightful presentation, sharing professional recommendations on emotional resilience, responsible decision-making, and avoiding common psychological challenges among youth. The seminar included open discussions, real-life case analyses, and a question-and-answer session.

The event was also attended by Professor E. Sultanova, Chairwoman of the UWED Women’s Advisory Council, and First-Year Group Supervisor M. Abdurakhmanova, who shared their views on preventing early marriages, empowering young women, strengthening youth social protection, and supporting their moral and personal development.

This seminar aimed to promote informed decision-making among students, enhance their legal literacy, and reinforce healthy social values. At the conclusion of the event, participants received practical recommendations and essential explanations related to the topic.
