    On 4 February 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a lecture by Professor Christopher Korten, a distinguished American academic, historian, and educator, and Professor of History and Politics.

    The lecture, entitled “Speak to Inspire: Recommendations for Clear and Confident Public Speaking,” focused on the development of effective oral communication, structured presentation of ideas, and building confidence in public speaking within academic and professional contexts.

    Addressing an audience of UWED students and young researchers, Professor Korten drew on his extensive academic and professional experience to present public speaking as a progressive and disciplined skill. He emphasized self-reflection and continuous improvement as essential components of effective communication, while highlighting the importance of preparation, audience awareness, clarity of purpose, and coherent structure.

    The lecture concluded with a Q&A session, during which Professor Korten answered all questions from participants and shared insights from his personal professional experience, which proved especially valuable and beneficial for the students.
