A scientific and practical seminar of the Methodological Council was held at UWED

On October 22 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a scientific and practical seminar of the Methodological Council on the system of higher education in Japan. The event was organized to discuss the unique experience and best practices of the Japanese education system.
The keynote speech was delivered by Timur Dadabaev, Professor of International Relations at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Tsukuba (Japan), member of the University-wide Steering Committee of the Young Researchers Development Support Office (TRiSTAR Secretariat).
The topic of his speech and presentation was «Managerial autonomy and assessment of the activities of the teaching staff. Transformation of University Management (Case Study of the Successful Experience of the University of Tsukuba)».
As part of the report, Professor T. Dadabaev highlighted a number of key aspects, including:
• Features of the model of a national university in Japan;
• Principles of management and achievement of administrative "perfection";
• A modern system for assessing the effectiveness of the teaching staff;
• Strategic lessons and potential ways to adapt the Japanese experience for universities in Uzbekistan.
Of particular interest to the audience were issues related to the practical implementation of the principles of academic autonomy and the system of stimulating scientific research.

At the end of the seminar, an active Q&A session was held, during which the participants of the event — teachers, researchers and methodologists of UWED — exchanged views with the lecturer and received detailed comments on the topics raised.
