The Ambassador of Switzerland to Uzbekistan delivered a lecture at UWED

On February 4 of this year, within the framework of the special course “Modern International Relations, World Economy and Interests of Uzbekistan” at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, a lecture was held by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Uzbekistan Konstantin Obolensky on the topic “Challenges of Landlockedness”.
During his speech, the diplomat highlighted how the “landlockedness” factor affects the economic development of states, logistics and transport chains, market access and foreign trade costs. Using the example of Switzerland, approaches to overcoming such constraints were considered - through infrastructure development, efficient transit routes, institutional solutions and economic specialization.
Special attention was paid to the practical dimension of international cooperation and the importance of sustainable partnerships for landlocked countries, including current areas of interaction between Switzerland and Uzbekistan.
The lecture ended with a Q&A session. The Ambassador answered all the questions asked by the students and shared his personal professional experience, which was especially valuable and useful for the audience.
