On January 28, 2026, a working meeting was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Rector of the UWED Sodyq Safoev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ms. Paraskevi Tseveleki.

During the conversation, S. Safoev confirmed the university's readiness to expand international cooperation in the academic, scientific and cultural spheres. Ambassador P. Tseveleki thanked for the warm welcome, emphasized the interest of the Embassy of Greece in the development of bilateral relations with Uzbekistan and expressed readiness for joint work.

As part of the discussion of academic cooperation, the Ambassador expressed her readiness to speak at the UWED as a guest lecturer. The parties considered the possibilities of regular participation of representatives of the diplomatic mission and academic circles of Greece in educational and expert events of the university, as well as the prospects for the implementation of joint educational programs for young diplomats, the organization of academic exchanges and thematic round tables for students.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare official invitations for the participation of the ambassador and embassy staff in the academic events of the UWED. The intention to create a working mechanism for coordinating and implementing joint projects in the fields of education and science was also confirmed.

The agreements reached are aimed at strengthening the educational bridge between Greece and Uzbekistan and open up new prospects for students and teachers of the two countries.
