A master class on the topic “International Law in the Digital Era” was held at UWED

On 17 November of this year, a master class titled “International Law in the Digital Age” was delivered for master's degree students within the course “Current Issues of International Law” by Darya Odilovna Abdalimova, Head of the Legal Department at OKMK JSC, lawyer at Inha University in Tashkent, and an expert with extensive professional experience in relevant state bodies in the field of information and digitalization.
The meeting was attended by professors and lecturers of the Faculty of International Law, including Doctor of Law, Professor N. A. Nugmanov.
During the lecture, the expert provided information on the international legal aspects of addressing global digitalization-related challenges, the use of digital technologies to ensure peace and security, the Global Digital Compact aimed at regulating digital space and artificial intelligence across various sectors, as well as foreign and national regulatory frameworks governing the use of digital tools.
The expert emphasized that digitalization can accelerate progress toward the 2030 Agenda and contribute to fields such as healthcare, agriculture, and environmental protection. It was noted that the use of digital technologies enhances the timeliness, accessibility, and security of information.
At the conclusion of the event, master’s students received answers to their questions, and an exchange of views took place regarding the international legal processes of digitalization policies in Central Asian countries, including the Republic of Uzbekistan.
