The University of World Economy and Diplomacy, in cooperation with the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan, held a masterclass within the framework of the “Sustainable Development Goals” course. The event focused on the 17th Sustainable Development Goal — strengthening partnerships for peace — the key priorities of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy, the role and significance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as the effective work carried out by the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan.
During his presentation, Meyerbek Ergashbaev, Lead Specialist at the Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan, provided an in-depth explanation of the concept of “public diplomacy” and its specific manifestations within the activities of the SCO.
As a young and promising specialist, he also informed participants about reforms and initiatives implemented by the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan aimed at advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. He highlighted the practical results of several key projects, including “Ecodialogue,” “Memory Tree,” “SCO Book Club,” and “Syrdarya—River of Friendship.”
At the end of the meeting, students received detailed answers to their questions related to the “SDGs–2030” strategy. The masterclass was held in an informative, open, and constructive atmosphere, offering a valuable platform for new ideas and proposals.
