Seminar on “Master’s and PhD Programs in Germany: the Example of Freie Universität Berlin” held at UWED

On November 12 of this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted a seminar titled “Master’s and PhD Programs in Germany: the Example of Freie Universität Berlin.” The seminar was led by Tobias A. Stüdemann, Director of the Freie Universität Berlin Liaison Office Eastern Europe. The event was aimed at students of all years and specialties who speak German or English and are interested in pursuing master’s or doctoral studies in Germany.
The seminar was organized in two parts. The first part provided detailed information on the admission process for master’s programs in Germany for students from Central Asia who hold a bachelor’s degree or another qualification. Different types of master’s programs, entry requirements, the application process, and other necessary information were explained.
The second part discussed doctoral opportunities, official requirements, and existing challenges. It also covered professional development programs aimed at fostering research activity at the Dahlem Research School of Freie Universität Berlin.
During the seminar, participants gained a clear understanding of how to choose master’s and doctoral programs in Germany and the steps to take after being admitted.
The event included practical examples, comparisons of program types, and introductions to useful resources for students. At the end of the seminar, participants engaged in an open discussion with Tobias A. Stüdemann and received detailed answers to their questions.
