On September 24, an open lesson was held in a master class format by Mr. S. Sh. Azizov, a responsible official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for second-year students of the Faculty of International Relations within the course Politics and Media.

In his lecture, Mr. Azizov provided a detailed overview of the structure and activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, elaborated on its functional departments, and explained the role of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions — embassies and consulates — both abroad and within the country. Particular attention was devoted to the issues of cultural diplomacy, humanitarian relations, and the use of mass media in shaping the state’s international image.

Drawing on his own professional experience in the system of the Ministry, Mr. Azizov underlined the practical significance of the knowledge acquired by students in the course Politics and Media and demonstrated how these competencies are applied in real diplomatic practice.

The session offered students a unique opportunity to ask questions, compare theoretical knowledge with practical examples, and deepen their understanding of the mechanisms of contemporary diplomacy. Such events strengthen the cooperation of UWED with state institutions and play an important role in the professional training of future specialists in international relations.
