UWED students visited the State Museum “In Memory of Victims of Repression”

On September 18 of this year, a visit of students to the State Museum “In Memory of Victims of Repression” was organized in order to get acquainted with the life and work of victims of political repression, honor the memory of their selfless service on the path of prosperity of the Motherland and educate in the spirit of respect for national memory and values.
During this visit, students got acquainted with the expositions of the museum and received extensive information about the difficult historical processes of 1937-1938, the life and activities of our compatriots who died innocently during that period. There were also insightful reflections on enlightened intellectuals such as Abdullah Qadiri, Fitrat and Cholpon, who made invaluable contributions to the development of their nation, science and literature during the years of repression.
During the event, students were given explanations about the historical lessons of the period of repression, about the need to appreciate today's peaceful and free life, to be aware of national identity and preserve it.
Such visits serve as an important factor in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, historical memory and respect, spiritual maturity.
During the event, the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Work of the UWED O. Yusupjanov spoke, who emphasized that our current peaceful life is based on examples of past courage and dedication, and expressed the following thoughts:
“Today's dedication to peace and progress is closely linked to preserving the memory of our ancestors, deeply studying their educational heritage and passing it on to the younger generation. Such a visit of students is an important step in educating them in the spirit of historical memory and patriotism”.
Director of the State Museum of Memory of Victims of Repression under the Cabinet of Ministers B. Khasanov also spoke, who made an impressive speech about the need for a deep study of history by the younger generation, awareness of national identity and learning from the past. In his speech, he stressed:
“The spirit of patriots of the nation is our honor and dignity. Preserving their memory is our historical and spiritual duty”.
The event was also attended by professors and teachers of the university, tutors and active students who expressed their opinions and considerations.
Such visits serve as an important factor in educating young people in the spirit of historical memory, patriotism and loyalty to justice.
