On September 17 this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a lecture by Munira Aminova, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Rector of the International University of Agriculture. The event, organized within the framework of the course “Modern International Relations, World Economy and Interests of Uzbekistan”, attracted a large number of students and teachers.

In her report on the topic “Economic Diplomacy”, Munira Aminova spoke in detail about the key areas of Uzbekistan's foreign policy. She noted that in recent years, the republic has been actively using economic diplomacy to attract investment, expand trade ties, strengthen regional cooperation and diversify the economy.

Particular attention is paid to the country's preparation for joining the World Trade Organization and the development of export industries. Uzbekistan also actively participates in the “Central Asia+” formats, strengthening ties with neighboring states.

During the lecture, the main achievements and priorities were highlighted:

    • Investment Attraction and Export Growth: Exports reached USD 35 billion in 2024 and are expected to increase to USD 42 billion by 2025.

    • Regional and international cooperation: Active participation in the "Central Asia+" formats and strengthening ties with neighboring states.

    • Integration into the world economy: Liberalization of foreign trade and intensive preparations for accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

    • International recognition: Leading rating agencies S&P and Moody's have improved the outlook on Uzbekistan's sovereign ratings, indicating the growing confidence of international investors.

    • Development of tourism and business relations: Uzbekistan is among the countries that have established a visa-free regime with more than 100 countries of the world.

It was emphasized that due to its strategic location at the intersection of trade routes, rich natural resources and ongoing large-scale reforms, Uzbekistan is strengthening its position as an important participant in the global economic system and strengthening its role in Eurasia.

The lecture was held in a lively and interactive atmosphere. Students and teachers had a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about modern trends and practical aspects of Uzbekistan's economic diplomacy.
