From July 29 to August 1, 2025, the high-level international conference “Helsinki+50” was held in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The event was organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.

This important diplomatic event was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Helsinki Final Act in 1975, a milestone agreement on security and cooperation in Europe. The conference addressed key topics such as regional security, human rights, the role of civil society, and the strengthening of peace through diplomacy.

Otabek Turgunboev, a student of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, took part in the conference as a representative of the Uzbekistan delegation. He expressed support for the OSCE and other international organizations’ initiatives aimed at strengthening the role of youth in ensuring peace and security. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of youth participation from Central Asia in building dialogue and trust, the significance of youth representation in diplomacy, and the role of civil society in ensuring regional stability.

During the event, Otabek Turgunboev engaged in discussions with representatives of the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, OSCE officials, and delegates from various countries.

His participation once again demonstrated the active role of Uzbek youth in addressing global challenges and their readiness for open dialogue with the international community.
