UWED joins the global “THE Impact Rankings 2025”

The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) made its debut in the highly regarded Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings in September 2024. This global ranking, conducted by a leading authority in higher education analytics, assesses universities' contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, setting international standards for academic excellence and sustainability.
THE is a globally respected authority on higher education analytics, setting international benchmarks for academic quality, transparency, and sustainability. Its influential university rankings, coupled with independent research and expert guidance on strategic development, shape policy and practice within the global higher education sector.
“THE Impact Rankings” provide a comprehensive assessment of universities' contributions to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), serving as a leading indicator of social, academic, and institutional responsibility in higher education. The rigorous methodology evaluates performance across a broad spectrum of dimensions, including quality education, gender equality, impactful partnerships, decent work and economic growth, academic freedom, and robust community engagement, reflecting the multifaceted nature of sustainable development.
In 2024, 2526 universities from 130 countries participated in the “THE Impact Rankings 2025”. According to the official results, UWED achieved the following positions:
• SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: 601–800;
• SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: 401–600;
• SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: 401–600;
• SDG 4 – Quality Education: 801–1000;
• SDG 5 – Gender Equality: 1001–1500.
In the overall ranking, UWED was placed in the 1001+ band, demonstrating its readiness to engage with the global agenda on sustainable development and higher education transformation.
This achievement reflects the result of UWED’s strategic efforts to strengthen academic potential, enhance institutional governance, and expand international cooperation aligned with the principles of sustainability.
