    On April 22, 2025, within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Month, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held an internal Olympiad among the first- and third-year students. The main objective of the event was to deepen students' knowledge, strengthen analytical skills, and enhance youth engagement in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

    Special emphasis was placed on developing a systemic understanding of the SDGs, their targets and indicators, and the ability to apply this knowledge in economic and social contexts. The Olympiad served as an important educational platform to encourage informed youth participation in solving global challenges.

    A total of 152 students participated in the intellectual competition. They were divided into teams and competed in four stages:

    1.                SDG knowledge test — based on official UN documents, this stage assessed basic understanding of the goals, targets, and indicators of sustainable development;

    2.                     Mathematical and computational tasks — designed to test practical quantitative and analytical skills;

    3.       Microeconomics and Macroeconomics test — evaluated economic literacy and interdisciplinary thinking;

    4.            Problem-solving round — each team was given an economic scenario and had 20 minutes to develop reasoned solutions.

    The results were evaluated by a competent jury composed of lecturers from the Department of International Economics: Head of Department, PhD, Associate Professor L.M. Tashpulatova; PhD, Associate Professor Kh.R. Karimova; PhD F.A. Bekmurodova; PhD S.A. Murtazoev; as well as from the Department of Systems Analysis and Mathematical Modeling: Associate Professor Sh.G. Umarova and Lecturer D.R. Khasanova.

    Based on the results, the winning teams were selected for their deep knowledge, logical reasoning, and effective teamwork. All prize-winners were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts.

    The most significant outcome of the Olympiad was the development of a systemic perspective on sustainable development among students, the strengthening of their academic motivation, and their civic engagement. This contributes to empowering youth as key drivers of transformative change in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
