On May 29, 2025 UWED hosted academic seminar with focus on “Digital transformation of higher education: opportunities, challenges and risks”.

As a key speaker UWED Vice-Rector for digital transformation and economy Djalalov M.M. shared his views on topic under discussion with the UWED leaders, professors and researchers.

Being based on the lecturer’s monograph titled “Priority areas for high-quality training of IT specialists in the New Uzbekistan” his report and presentation at workshop comprised the following issue-areas: Introduction, The relevance of digital transformation of higher education, Monograph, Strategic Initiatives, Legal regulation of digitalization, Transition from e-government to a digital state, Sustainable digital education system for youth, Human resources training in the context of digital transformation, Hybrid forms of education and quality control, Continuous improvement of IT specialists’ skills, Self-financing mechanisms of higher education institutions, Recommendations for training IT specialists, Digital transformation challenges, Digital transformation strategy, Digital Diplomacy in higher education, Cyber Law and security issues, Data Science opportunities in education, Digital Diplomacy in the Uzbek Higher Education System, Synergy of Digital Diplomacy, Cyber Law and Data Science in UWED, Analysis of problematic issues and risks, Conclusion and development prospects.

 The concluding part of the academic discussion was followed by the Q&A session.
