Education for Climate Action: A UWED Instructor's Masterclass at Lal Bahadur Shastri School

On April 28, 2026, the Department of Oriental Languages at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) held an outreach educational event at Specialized School No. 24 in Tashkent. The masterclass, titled "SDG 13: Climate Action," was organized with the direct participation and support of Bernora Mansurovna Giyazova, Head of the Department and a Hindi language instructor.
The choice of school was deliberate: this educational institution specializes in the in-depth study of Hindi. An interactive session was prepared for 9th-grade students, during which critical environmental challenges such as atmospheric pollution and global warming were discussed. The students not only learned about the risks of climate change but also actively engaged in the process of finding solutions. Through an "Ecology Quiz," the children reinforced their knowledge of proper waste recycling and conscious consumption.
Improving student literacy on the global consequences of climate change is a key item on today's sustainable development agenda (SDG 13), uniting all countries and peoples.
