On May 22 of this year, an event was held for 1st year students of the Faculty of International Economics and Management of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy on the topic "We are waging an uncompromising fight against any manifestations of religious extremism and terrorism".

The event was attended by the head of the counter-terrorism department of the Department for Coordination of the Activities of the Internal Affairs Bodies of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, Lieutenant Colonel Bakhrom Irgashev, and an employee of the department, Lieutenant Colonel Salim Tajiddinov, who made reports on practical experience, threats and measures to counter terrorism and religious extremism.

During the event, students got acquainted with up-to-date information about persons who show a tendency to extremist ideas or distribute prohibited materials in higher educational institutions.

In addition, the main goal of the event was to inform young people about religious extremism and terrorism through explanations and lectures with questions and answers conducted by experts, as well as teaching them methods of protection from global threats to security and peace.

As a result of the event, students increased their knowledge and understanding of these issues and were convinced of the importance of taking an active civic position in society.
