On May 7, 2025, an international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Green Investments and Financial Technologies: Opportunities and Challenges for Uzbekistan" was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

This conference was organized jointly with the Department of International Finance and Investments of UWED and the Department of Economics and Business Management of the Nordic International University.

This conference was organized with the aim of discussing issues of sustainable development of the economy of our country, increasing investment attractiveness, attracting green investments, and developing green financial technologies.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan D.Fayziyeva, Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan O.Khakimov, Rector of the Nordic International University Sh.Mustafakulov and they expressed their thoughts on this topic as one of the most pressing today.

The practical aspects of the topic covered by Head of the Green Economy Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Islamov, Advisor to the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan R.Kusherbayev, Associate Professor of the Department of International Economics of UWED S.Turaeva, Associate Professor of the Nordic International University R.Mardanova, Associate Professor of the University of Central Asia Elif Kutlugun and Chief Specialist of the Center for Development Strategy R.Nuridinov. Experts from different countries also took part in the event with their reports.

Following the conference, an open discussion was organized, during which the participants discussed ways to improve the country's green investment policy, opportunities available in the green economy, potential problems in the transition to a green economy and proposed practical ways to solve them, as well as the development of research projects and strengthening international cooperation.

Great attention was paid to investing green technologies in the water sector, thereby providing the necessary infrastructure for effective water management.
