The Ambassador of the Philippines to Uzbekistan visited UWED

On April 25 this year, a meeting was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Uzbekistan Roberto Manolo.
During the meeting, the university leadership, headed by the First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the UWED Akram Umarov, presented the ambassador with a presentation of the university.
The high-ranking diplomat expressed his desire to establish cooperation between the universities of the Philippines and the UWED. He also said that the Philippines has a diplomatic training institute that offers special courses, but does not have bachelor's and master's programs. Based on this, the ambassador put forward an initiative to organize student exchange programs and trainings, as well as to send Uzbek diplomats to the Philippines for lectures.
In addition, the Philippine side expressed its readiness to provide experts in the field of shipping law. Mr. Manolo noted that due to its geographical location, the Philippines has highly qualified specialists in this field and expressed readiness to support Uzbekistan in training personnel in this area.
The Philippine side also expressed its intention to share ASEAN's scientific articles and research with the Institute for Advanced International Studies at UWED, noting that the experience of their economic development may be of interest to Uzbek scientists.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Diplomatic Academy under the UWED and The Foreign Service Institute of the Republic of the Philippines to establish cooperation.
