June 7, 2024 in the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) international scientific-practical conference on the theme: “Ensuring sustainable development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the new realities of global processes” was held in hybrid format. The international conference formed an important platform for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The conference emphasized the importance of cooperation and knowledge sharing between different groups in order to strengthen the global partnership for sustainable development. It brought together policymakers, academics, civil society representatives and international experts, creating a space for open dialog and exchange of ideas for improving economies, societies and the environment.
The conference was organized with the aim of in-depth discussion of current challenges and opportunities for sustainable development against the background of rapidly changing global processes. The event was attended by representatives of the general public - from the academic community to practitioners, specialists and independent experts of Uzbekistan involved in sustainable development processes. Among the speakers were not only scientists from Uzbekistan, but also foreign experts from India, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Iran. Through its open format, external audience participation and open access publication, the university not only strengthens its own contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals, but also fulfills its educational mission as an open academic platform for all stakeholders.
By bringing together high-level dialog with local communities, this initiative fully reflects the SDGs and presents the university as an active driver of sustainable and inclusive development in Uzbekistan.
