On December 4 of this year, in honor of December 3 — the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) visited Specialized School No. 77 for blind and visually impaired children. The visit was organized within the framework of the “Qaldirg‘och” project initiated by the UWED Legal Clinic.

The event, held in connection with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, aimed to promote the rights of children with disabilities, support their well-being, and strengthen their social participation. The project primarily focuses on enhancing the legal literacy and social protection of minors, including young girls.

During the visit, UWED students conducted various educational, developmental, and creative activities for the schoolchildren:

Interactive presentation on fundamental child rights.
The participants explained children’s basic rights in a simple, engaging, and accessible way.

    Developmental games and a quiz.

Students organized activities designed to improve thinking skills, memory, and social engagement, followed by a legal literacy quiz.

    Artistic and creative activities.

An origami workshop was held, during which the children discussed topics related to their rights and their protection in a friendly and supportive environment.

Purpose and Significance of the Project

A representative of the UWED Legal Clinic emphasized:
The ‘Qaldirg‘och’ project is aimed at enhancing young people’s legal literacy, strengthening their social protection, and providing essential socio-legal support to children. On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, today’s visit allowed us to share kindness, motivation, and support with these children.

At the end of the meeting, the students and schoolchildren sang the song “O‘zbekiston” together. This touching moment added warmth and sincerity to the event, further strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two groups.
