UWED Hosts “BOOK LOOP” Book Exchange Initiative as Part of SDG Week

On November 4, 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted the “BOOK LOOP” book exchange event, initiated by student Saida Azatova as part of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Week.
The initiative aimed to promote United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 — Quality Education — and Goal 12 — Responsible Consumption and Production, while fostering a culture of reading, encouraging knowledge sharing, and expanding access to literature among students.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to exchange books they had already read for other titles. Eligible books were required to be original copies, exceed 100 pages, and be in good, readable condition. The exchange was organized in a flexible, drop-in format, allowing students to participate at their convenience. Each participant also received a commemorative bookmark.
The “BOOK LOOP” initiative promoted the reuse of books, responsible resource consumption, and a stronger reading culture, while creating opportunities for students to share knowledge and engage with literature in a sustainable way.
