UWED Hosts Representatives of Six Leading Japanese Universities for a Presentation on Educational Opportunities

On October 26, 2026, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) welcomed representatives of six leading Japanese higher education institutions. As part of the visit, a presentation was held to introduce educational programs, academic mobility opportunities, grants and scholarships, as well as prospects for further studies and professional development in Japan.

The event brought together representatives of the following Japanese universities:

    1. University of Tsukuba

    2. Nagoya University

    3. Yokohama National University

    4. The Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI)

    5. Kobe University

    6. Nagaoka University of Technology

During the presentations, representatives of the Japanese universities introduced UWED students to the distinctive features of Japan's higher education system, admission requirements for master's and doctoral programs, opportunities to study in English, participate in international academic exchange programs, and conduct scientific research.

In particular, representatives of the University of Tsukuba presented the university's academic and research fields, along with special programs designed for students from Central Asian countries. Particular attention was given to the master's program in Public Policy and The Nippon Foundation Central Asia Fellowship (NipCA), an international fellowship program providing financial support for students.

Nagoya University introduced its G30 International Programs, which offer English-taught undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs. The presentation also covered academic exchange opportunities through the NUPACE program, available scholarships, and graduates' future employment prospects.

Representatives of Yokohama National University provided an overview of academic programs in economics, management, international development, engineering, and law. Special emphasis was placed on the learning environment for international students, the university's academic support system, and opportunities to pursue professional careers in Japanese companies.

The Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI) presented its doctoral programs focused on fundamental and interdisciplinary scientific research. Participants learned about opportunities for international research collaboration, research infrastructure, and grants and scholarship programs available to early-career researchers.

Kobe University introduced students to its English-taught master's and doctoral programs, including those in law, economics, business administration, and international cooperation. The presentation also highlighted opportunities for international academic collaboration, support services for international students, and their professional development.

One of the key topics of the event was the prospect of employment and career advancement in Japan after graduation. University representatives provided information on internship opportunities, research activities, and professional career pathways available to international graduates.

Events of this kind contribute to expanding UWED's international educational partnerships, promoting student academic mobility, and strengthening cooperation with leading Japanese higher education institutions.

The meeting provided UWED students with a valuable opportunity to obtain first-hand information from representatives of Japanese universities, explore promising fields of study, and identify potential pathways for their future academic and professional development.
