    On March 5–6 of this year, a master class on “The National Human Rights System” was held for third-year students of the Faculty of International Law within the framework of the course “Human Rights”. The event was conducted with the participation of Jasur Yakubovich Islamov, Head of the International Cooperation Development Sector of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman), and Diyora Alliyarovna Abdullayeva, Leading Specialist of the sector.

    During the session, the speakers provided general information about the organizational structure and activities of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman). They also gave a detailed explanation of the mechanisms for handling citizens’ appeals and analyzed the nature and content of appeals received by the Ombudsman. In addition, the activities of the International Cooperation Development Department under the Ombudsman were explained, particularly its work in establishing cooperation with international organizations and ombudsman institutions of other countries in the field of human rights, studying international experience, and organizing joint projects.

    Students showed particular interest in the Ombudsman’s practical work with appeals from convicted persons and detainees. During the session, students’ knowledge and skills were also assessed through interactive dialogue and communication.
