Uzbekistan Day” Cultural and Educational Event Held at the University for Foreigners of Perugia

As part of the cooperation between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) and the prestigious University for Foreigners of Perugia (Italy), Muborak Madraximova, an Italian language instructor at the Department of European and Turkic Languages of UWED, together with third-year students of the university, is currently participating in a summer professional development and academic exchange program in Perugia.

Within the framework of this cooperation, UWED, in partnership with the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, organized a cultural and educational event entitled “Uzbekistan Day” at the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Professor Valerio De Cesaris, who highlighted the steadily developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy in the fields of education, culture, and the economy. The primary objective of the event was to introduce the Italian and international academic community, including faculty members and students, to Uzbekistan’s rich history, national traditions, cultural heritage, and renowned hospitality.

The program featured a presentation of traditional Uzbek national costumes, an exhibition of handicrafts, and a tasting of Uzbek national cuisine, including plov, samsa, and other traditional dishes. Participants also enjoyed performances of Uzbek traditional music and dance, providing them with an opportunity to experience the country’s rich musical and artistic heritage. The cultural performances reflecting Uzbekistan’s national identity left a lasting impression on the audience.

The “Uzbekistan Day” event contributed to strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Italy, while fostering intercultural dialogue and friendship among students and young people.
