UWED Student Participates in an International Summer School in Almaty

From 22 to 28 June, an International Summer School aimed at developing and promoting diplomatic engagement among young people was held in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. The programme was organised by the Kazakh-American University (KAU) and attended by Ulzira Bakhytbaeva, a fourth-year student at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The International Summer School brought together young representatives from nine countries: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the United States, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Greece, China, Russia and Mongolia.
The comprehensive programme included lectures, thematic sessions, team assignments and interactive meetings dedicated to diplomacy, international relations and intercultural dialogue. Participants also took part in educational and cultural trips to Bear Falls and Issyk Lake, as well as visits to museums and historical memorial sites in Almaty.
The high level of organisation created a productive environment for intercultural dialogue and the exchange of experience among the participants. Alongside developing their professional knowledge and skills, the young representatives had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Kazakhstan’s rich history, national traditions and cultural heritage.
The knowledge and experience gained during the Summer School, as well as the international connections established, will provide a solid foundation for the further development of youth diplomacy, public diplomacy and international cooperation.
