On May 21–22, the National University of Singapore hosted a prestigious international conference dedicated to the teaching and research of international law in Asia. Organized by the University’s Centre for International Law, the event brought together leading scholars, researchers, legal practitioners, and members of the academic community from across the region.

Among the participants was Surayyo Usmanova, Acting Professor of the Department of International Law and Public Law Disciplines at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED). The conference provided a platform for exchanging views on current issues in international law, prospects for the development of legal education, the enhancement of research methodologies, and the expansion of regional academic cooperation.

During the plenary and thematic sessions, participants discussed modern approaches to teaching international law, strategies for improving the quality of academic research, strengthening cooperation among higher education institutions, and promoting regional scientific and academic ties.

It is noteworthy that this marks the second consecutive year of Surayyo Usmanova’s participation in international academic events organized by the National University of Singapore. Last year, she took part in a professional development program hosted by the university, while this year she joined one of the leading international conferences in the field of international law.

According to the QS World University Rankings 2026, the National University of Singapore ranks 8th in the world and 1st in Asia, making it one of the world’s leading institutions in education, research, and innovation.

Participation in this conference provided an important opportunity to strengthen international academic cooperation, expand professional networks, and gain insight into advanced academic practices in the field of international law.
