UWED hosted a literary and educational event dedicated to the works of Erkin Vohidov and O‘tkir Hoshimov

On May 15, 2026, within the framework of the implementation of the Resolution No. VMF-121 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 1, 2026, the Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy organized a literary and educational event dedicated to the works of the distinguished writers Erkin Vohidov and O‘tkir Hoshimov. The main purpose of the event was to widely promote the rich literary heritage of the two great authors, enhance reading culture among young people, and strengthen their respect and admiration for national literature.
The event was opened with an introductory speech by Sayyora Qobiljonovna Tillaxodjayeva, Chief Specialist of the Youth Affairs Office. In her speech, she emphasized that the works of Erkin Vohidov and O‘tkir Hoshimov constitute a priceless treasure of Uzbek national literature, and that their writings play an important role in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, humanism, devotion, and high moral values.
Afterwards, Shoira Umarovna Narmatova, Associate Professor of the Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages, delivered a presentation on the life and creative activity of the two outstanding writers. The report highlighted the artistic richness of Erkin Vohidov’s poetry and its profound reflection of the people’s spirit, as well as the skillful portrayal of the human soul, family values, and social life in the works of O‘tkir Hoshimov.
During the event, university students performed theatrical scenes, artistic performances, monologues, and poetry recitations based on the works of Erkin Vohidov and O‘tkir Hoshimov. In particular, the vivid portrayal of literary characters by the students made a strong impression on the audience.
At the end of the event, participants noted that such spiritual and educational gatherings play an important role in broadening young people’s worldview, encouraging reading habits, and fostering a deeper understanding of national values. Overall, the literary and educational event dedicated to the works of Erkin Vohidov and O‘tkir Hoshimov left warm impressions on all participants and further strengthened respect for literature and spirituality.
