    On April 29, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), in collaboration with the Alliance Française and the French Institute for Central Asian Studies (IFEAC), held a “Water Management Master Class”. The event brought together international and local experts, creating a professional platform for dialogue on water resources in Central Asia.

    The master class opened with welcoming remarks from representatives of the Alliance Française and UWED. The program included presentations by invited experts on water resources management and environmental issues in the Aral Sea basin, access to safe drinking water and sanitation, water management practices in Uzbekistan, and Franco-Uzbek cooperation in the water sector.

    Speakers included Professor Eugénie Stoclet, PhD in Environmental Sciences and researcher at Paris-Saclay University and IRSEM; Olivier Normand, Project Director at the International Secretariat for Water; Professors Aziz Khaidarov, Murat Bakhadyrov, water resources management lead specialists, also Silvere Delaunay, General Director of SUEZ Central Asia, presented their papers, reflecting both academic and practical approaches to water resources management, sustainable development, and regional cooperation.

    As a result of the masterclass, participants gained a deeper understanding of the most pressing water resources management issues in the region, exchanged views on innovative solutions, and strengthened the professional and academic dialogue between Uzbek and international partners. The event also confirmed the importance of continued cooperation.
