UWED Students Meet with a Delegation from the Italian Parliament

On April 15 of this year, students from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) met with a delegation led by Fabrizio Benzoni, a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Italian Republic and head of the “Italy–Central Asia” inter-parliamentary cooperation group.
During the event, the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Italian relations were discussed. The Italian representatives highlighted the steady positive momentum in bilateral cooperation, including the growth of tourism. It was noted that over 2,000 citizens of Uzbekistan visit Italy annually, demonstrating a growing interest in the country and strengthening humanitarian ties.
Special attention during the meeting was given to the study of the Italian language and the expansion of educational cooperation. The Italian delegation commended the proficiency of the UWED students; during a lively dialogue, the students demonstrated their command of the Italian language by communicating freely with the guests, which earned high praise from the Italian side.
The discussion also touched upon Italy's foreign policy, including its approaches and priorities in Central Asia. The delegation's representatives noted Italy's interest in fostering constructive engagement with the countries of the region, including Uzbekistan, in the spheres of economy, education, and cultural exchange.
The meeting concluded by highlighting the high level of mutual interest in the further development of interstate and inter-university cooperation, as well as the importance of such events for developing human resources and strengthening international relations.
