The University of World Economy and Diplomacy celebrated Hindi Day and held a public speaking competition

On April 14 of this year, a solemn event dedicated to the Hindi oratory competition and the National Hindi Language Day was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The organizer was the Department of Oriental Languages.
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Smita Pant, vice-rectors, teachers and students of the university.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the UWED Sodyq Safoev addressed the participants and guests with a welcoming speech.
The program of the evening included actor and artist Ulugbek Kapur, who performed a musical composition. Then the main public speaking competition took place, in which 12 students of the 2nd and 4th courses took part. Each of them was given 2 minutes to perform in Hindi. The culmination of the event was the summing up of the results of the oratory competition.
The Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan personally presented the awards to the winners, noting the high level of Hindi proficiency among UWED students and the importance of preserving language and cultural traditions. At the end of the evening, the official closing ceremony and a general photo session of the participants and guests took place.
