On February 20, 2026 the Methodological Council of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy arranged the academic seminar dedicated to “Uzbekistan`s New Economic Policy: Priorities for Foreign Economic Activity and Integration into Global Markets”.

The meeting was attended by the UWED administrative and teaching staff, members of the Academic Council, experts of Institute for Advanced International Studies and Diplomatic Academy. In the main part of the event First Deputy Director of the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdukadirov A.M. delivered/gave a keynote speech.

In his speech the speaker paid attention to the priority areas of Uzbekistan`s current economic policy, focusing on domestic sources of economic development and, on the other hand, the conditions for attracting foreign investment and guarantees for protecting investment activities, improving the national stock market and the quality of financial instruments, issues of public and corporate debt governing, and more. In the report, the speaker emphasized value orientations in developing economic strategies, as well as mentioned country and regional models of effectively organizing economic relations and strategies, including those of China, the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, and others.

The concluding part of the seminar was followed by the discussion session, when participants of the event were able raise questions and comments on environmental migration issues in Central Asia; indicators and factors for the sustainability of Uzbekistan`s economic development; the specifics of China`s investment policy in Central Asian countries; the assessment of reforms in the context of the country`s internal development logic and its needs; regionalization processes in Central Asia, and more.
