Professor Michael Brody from the American University in Washington, D.C. Visits UWED

On February 13, 2026, as part of the ongoing partnership and expanding cooperation between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) and the American University in Washington D.C., UWED welcomed Professor Michael Brody for a follow-up guest lecture. Professor Brody, a leading expert in ecology and environmental protection, has been actively involved in fostering academic exchange and knowledge sharing between the two institutions.
This year, Professor Brody delivered a lecture on “Climate Change Adaptation and Water Resource Management in Central Asia,” building upon his previous discussions with UWED students. He explored the latest trends in global climate change, including updated projections for regional water resources, innovative adaptation strategies, and the role of cross-border collaboration in mitigating environmental risks.
The lecture prompted a lively discussion among students, who asked thoughtful questions about climate modeling, sustainable water management, and the potential for regional cooperation to address environmental challenges. Participants noted that the lecture was not only informative but also highly relevant, providing valuable insights into both global trends and local impacts of climate change.
Furthermore, under the guidance of Professor Ulugbek Khasanov, UWED master’s students had the unique opportunity to participate in Professor Brody’s masterclass. This session provided them with hands-on insights into climate change adaptation and water resource management, further enriching their academic experience.
The visit further strengthened the collaboration between UWED and the American University in Washington, D.C., highlighting the importance of ongoing academic exchanges in addressing critical environmental issues.
