From October 12 to 19, 2025, a one-week seminar was organized for students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) as part of the GURES (“German-Uzbek Relations: Energy & Sustainability”) program, implemented in cooperation with Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin, Germany).

The program aims to strengthen scientific and academic collaboration between higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Europe, as well as to enhance students’ knowledge in the fields of energy and sustainable development and improve their practical German language skills.

The seminar was conducted by expert Artem Lomakin, who led intensive seminars in German on the topic of “International and European Energy Policy.” During the classes, students gained in-depth knowledge of current trends in the European energy market, green energy policies, global energy security, and the role of international cooperation in this sphere.

As part of the visit, an open lecture was also organized for UWED students on the topic of “Energy Geopolitics and Regional Security in South Asia.” The lecture covered strategic directions of energy policy, regional integration processes, and key issues of energy diplomacy.

At the end of the lecture, UWED students actively engaged in discussion with the lecturer. They asked questions about pressing issues of European energy policy, developments in green energy, and the interrelation of global energy security. The lecturer provided detailed and clear answers to all questions, emphasizing the importance of deepening knowledge, analytical thinking, and language skills in this field.
