On February 25, in Madrid (Spain), as part of the academic conference “Uzbekistan at the crossroads: regional dynamics and connections with Iberian countries,” a presentation of the original film of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy “Ancient Civilizations Looking to the Future” in Spanish took place. The author of the script was Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations of UWED Shakhnoza Khatamovna Amirova.

The film is dedicated to current issues of domestic and foreign policy of Uzbekistan in the context of the introduction of new trends, in particular from the point of view of the country’s “soft power” policy and the rapprochement of the states of the Central Asian region, which historically have common roots, religion and culture.

The conference was attended by members of the official delegation of Uzbekistan, as well as researchers from Spain and Portugal studying issues of interaction and cooperation between the countries of the Iberian Peninsula and Uzbekistan.

The starting point for creating the film was an interview with a prominent political figure, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of UWED Sodyq Safoev. This interview, which runs like a “red thread” through the entire film, clearly and clearly defines the vector of political priorities of Uzbekistan.

The film was received with great interest by conference participants. It was especially noted that the picture was prepared in Spanish.

It should be noted that as part of the official delegation of Uzbekistan, Sh. Amirova took part in meetings with professors at the largest State Public University of Spain, which has existed for 500 years. This is the oldest university in Europe, with more than 67 thousand students studying not only from Spain, but also from Latin American countries. Another meeting with scientists from San Pablo University and diplomats took place at the Al-Qacap Center, where issues of security and stability in the Central Asian region were discussed.
